What is my imprint on the world?

As I navigate this deep sadness, I am looking for the light, connection and for love. One of the silver linings of Michael’s funeral mass is the pause and self reflection it’s caused many of us to do.
I was lucky enough to wake up with him each morning and hold his hand each night as we fell asleep for 7 years. I saw his immense ability to love, unconditionally, and the way he touched other’s lives.
I have heard that Michael’s funeral mass made people stop and evaluate their own life, their legacy, what they are giving to the world.
The silver lining of this tragedy is that this has caused people to live differently, love deeper, forgive and refocus their life on what’s important because life is short. It could have been any one of us. One friend called a sibling they hadn’t talked to in years, someone else let me know they went back to church, many have said they made a resolution to volunteer and give of their time. There have been endless stories.
As I head to Denver with my girls, I have a heavy heart and tears in my eyes but I do know he goes there with me.
I’m consciously focusing on the silver lining.
I call you to pause and evaluate your life and remove any and all blocks to love. Thats all that matters.
