I Vow
My love,
I could not think of life without you either, yet here I am without you.
On what would be our wedding day, here are my vows to you:
Thank you for making your way into my world, almost 8 years ago to the day, and showing me unconditional and all encompassing love. This day will never leave my memory and I knew when we met that your heart was my home.
Thank you for extending unconditional love and compassion when I was at my bottom and gently encouraging me to find the light within, that you saw so clearly in me.
Thank you for tenderly caring for not just my heart and my emotions but thoughtfully and attentively caring for me in physical ways. Thank you for paying attention to all of my “favorties” … so we never ran out of my Zevia, my creamer, my favorite bath soaps, my favorite lotion, my favorite granola…the list goes on and on. I never knew someone would care so much about every detail of me, and you did and for the I am so grateful.
Thank you for bringing flowers home every week with a love letter and a kiss.
Thank you for the love notes we exchanged for all these years, hiding them all over the house… I will cherish them forever.
Thank you for being vulnerable and expressing love so freely and trusting me with your heart.
Thank you for the voicemails of you singing to me and all the text messages professing your love.
Thank you for letting me love you and reminding you that you were worthy of all encompassing, unconditional, love with someone who still thinks you hung the stars and the moon.
Thank you for coming on a spiritual journey with me to learn and grow into the best versions of ourselves.
I vow to remember and live all of your sound advice.
I vow to cheer on our Cubs for the rest of my life.
I vow to take Maddie to the book mobile this summer as you two planned to do, like you did as a child.
I vow to remember and laugh at our inside jokes.
I vow to tell your corny jokes and keep them alive for myself and the girls and anyone else who will listen.
I vow to smile, laugh, keep life fun and of course, vulgar (I fucking love you - IFLY)
I vow to live with grace and integrity for myself and also to model you.
I vow to tell the stories of who you are and the way you lived your life, simply to inspire others to LOVE big and live ALL OUT.
I vow to lovingly care for our home with the same pride you did, I see you everywhere in here.
I vow to stay open to your signs… to hear you in the whispering wind and see you in the painted skies, the crisp clouds, the chirping birds, and in your tree that blooms in our yard.
I vow to see myself through your eyes and never forget what you said you loved about me. I will make that a part of me forever.
I vow to say good morning and good night each day and to spend time with you in meditation each moring.
I vow to never forget what it felt like to have your lips touch mine or the warmth and safety of resting in your arms.
I vow to cherish every little moment that we shared, that made up our love story.
I vow to carry on with a big beautiful life.
I vow to make you proud.
I vow to share our story with others.
I vow to love others, without exception.
I vow to pour love into this world and never stop.
I vow to always love you, wholeheartedly, for the rest of my life.
I promise all of this and I ask that you wait for me and greet me when I come home.
You are I are teathered together forever, our souls knew this the moment we met and the physical body had nothing to do with it.
Happy Wedding day.
I love you sweetheart.
